What is God Daring You to Do?

Oh y'all ... in case you missed it, my dear friend Kate Battistelli was here {like at my house!!} a week and a half ago. {And, this is shocking, but we did not take a single picture of the two of us. Too busy talking and basking in the joy of being together, I suppose.} She graciously agreed to speak at our church's ladies conference and, oh. my. word. did she bring a powerful and encouraging message to us! As most of you know, I was a part of Holley Gerth's God-Sized Dream Team last year. ... [Read More]

Choose to Be Present

It's cheerleader tryout week. Which, for most all of you, means absolutely nothing. But here at the Underwood Abode it means 6 or 7 hours of cheer clinics and practices after school every day until Friday. Which means all our relatively normal routines are tossed out the window! :) It would be really easy for me to wish this week gone. To be annoyed with all the extra "stuff" on the schedule. But I'm choosing something different. I choose to be present. Remember a few months ago when I ... [Read More]

What Should I Do First on Monday?

Hi all! It's a dreary Monday here in North Alabama. But somehow all these last minute details have converged ... and ... [Read More]

What Will You Stop in 2014?

January is often a month filled with starts ... new diets and exercise plans, fresh enthusiasm for spiritual disciplines, renewed commitment to important relationships, and more. But what if we also considered what we need to stop as the year begins? Join me at Not Quite Amish as I share two things I want to stop in 2014! ... [Read More]

What Is Your Desire for 2014?

January 2, 2014. Really? Seems surreal to me. I'm finding the truth in what my grandmother says about time going faster the older you get. Seems like just yesterday I was anticipating 2013 and being a part of Holley Gerth's God Size Dream Team. And here I sit, a year later, realizing I still don't have a real understanding of what direction God is leading me. It's weird starting a new year with no real sense of direction. Yesterday I wrote in my journal, "I don't have a One Word for this ... [Read More]
