Hi all! I'm excited about today's post in the "What if ... 10 ways to live well in today's world" series. I think it's one that will both challenge and encourage all of us in the pursuit of the abundant life Christ offers. What if ... we embrace good enough? In March, I wrote about coping during the busy weeks. One of the important points I addressed is to know when good enough really is enough. I think we find that easier to do when life is hectic or crashing down around us. Just like it ... [Read More]
What if … We Do Something instead of Everything
Hi all! We're launching into "What if ... 10 ways to live well in today's world." And, I have to admit, today's post hit me like a ton of bricks. What if ... we do something instead of everything. As mommas {and women, in general, I think}, we have this desire to do it all. Even if we don't give in the voices in our heads, deep down we believe if we could just get the perfect system in place, we could accomplish everything we want. Y'all, as awesome as that sounds, it's just not true. ... [Read More]
The Fringe Hours {book review}
I mentioned a few weeks ago how much I love my journaling Bible. I really do. I'm not particularly artistic but I am enjoying learning to do hand lettering and to use Scripture to form my own brand of art. It's becoming one of those releases for me ... a time when I am both challenged and inspired. Whether the something is ... [Read More]

We don’t need one more plan for ordering our days or one more list for accomplishing more. We need someone to whisper, “It’s okay. You’re okay." Can I tell you something important? Busy isn't necessarily bad. Jesus was busy. He was on the go. And, much like the mom with little ones, someone was always wanting something from ... [Read More]
Time Management or Time Maximization?
Some days I make my to do list and when I'm done I just want to go back to bed. I tend to put off those little things like making doctor appointments, scheduling photo sessions, and picking up prescriptions until the very last minute. In fact, today is one of those days where I'm going to have to force myself to do a bunch of those types of things. I hate all of that. {If anyone wants to volunteer to manage this sort of thing for me, I'll pay in hugs and banana pudding. I kid. sorta.} Then ... [Read More]
When Movies Bring Hope {Review of “The Good Lie”}
One of my favorite parts of Christmas is the movies. White Christmas is my favorite ... but I have a special fondness for The Muppets' Christmas Carol and The Holiday as well. I love a great story — especially one filled with hope and redemption. Christmas is one of my favorite times of year but for many it is not the joyful celebration my family shares. In Alabama, 22% of adults live below the poverty line. {source} 1 out of 6 people in America faces hunger. {source} On any given night, ... [Read More]
