Top 10 Posts of 2015

Can you believe we’re less than a week away from 2016? This year feels like it passed so quickly.  All those moms who smiled at me when my girl was a baby and said, “Don’t blink!” were so right!!  My girl will turn 16 in less than two months.  What??  {I find this most amazing since I haven’t gotten any older at all since she was born. haha!}

Top 10 Posts of 2015 ... prayer, marriage, girl moms, and more

I looked over all the posts I wrote in 2015 and made a list of the top ten {measured by numbers of page views and social media sharing}. So, here they are …

10.  3 Reasons I’m No Longer Apologizing for my Busy Schedule

I love this one! I wrote it during the launch of my new design and updated tag line.  Sometimes we end up feeling so guilty because we’re busy … but when we are busy doing the things God has called us to do, it’s not a bad thing!!  Find grace here, my friends!!

9.  A Letter to the Ones Who Will Skip Church on Mother’s Day

Sometimes holidays aren’t amazing and sometimes we even dread them. This post comes from my own experience of longing for a child and feeling the ache every time someone else announced they were pregnant.

8.  15 Years of Mothering {and Why It’s Harder than I ever Thought}

Mom-ing is just plain old hard work sometimes.  And honestly, I’m finding more and more comfort in the awareness that I’m really not enough … and that I was never intended to be.  My job is to point my girl to the One who IS enough.

7.  A Prayer for My Girl as She Begins her Sophomore Year

No joke, y’all, when she started school this past August, I was pretty distraught. Because as much fun as it is to watch her grow up and see the person she is becoming, I’m struggling hard with the reality of the limited days we have left for her to be in our home.

6.  5 Most Important Things I Do Every Day

My to do list probably looks much like yours … and some days it seems like all I do is put out fires and change the laundry. But every day I try to make sure to keep first things first … and this list is one of the tools I use in that endeavor.

5.  31 Verses to Pray for Your Marriage

This introductory post lists all the verses in the series. Praying Scripture over my marriage has been such a blessing to me. If you are looking for a way to kick 2016 off right, this is a great place to start!

4. Yes, I Read My Daughter’s Texts {and no, it isn’t because I don’t trust her}

This one ended up being syndicated by For Every Mom and some of the response was honestly a little shocking to me.  But still, I know there is an enemy waging war against my girl and I’m determined to stand in the gap for her any way I can — even if it means checking her phone. 🙂

3. 10 Tips for a Great Quiet Time

This post from 2012 remains a popular one … it’s been pinned and shared thousands of times.  And it’s one of the posts I am most proud to have written … there’s a lot of grace in here for those who are struggling to find and maintain time for daily Bible reading.

2. 31 Verses to Pray for Your Girl

My 2014 Write 31 Days series … and the reason I started Prayers for Girls. Almost 2000 have joined the Prayers for Girls community and will be praying through Proverbs in January. If you haven’t signed up for your free prayer calendar yet, now would be a great time!!

And for the second year in a row, my top post is about {bizarrely} teenage boys …

10 Gifts for Teenage Boys under $25

Clearly, all you girl moms who read here are also looking for good gift ideas for the boys you know!! 🙂

So, that’s the top posts for this year … and it definitely seems like prayer and parenting girls are two very important themes. Which lines up perfectly with everything the Lord is doing in my life and heart right now.  I think 2016 is going to be a fabulous year and I hope you’ll be joining me for the ride!

Teri Lynne
