More on My Fall Capsule Wardrobe and What I’ve Been Wearing to Ball Games

what I wore {mostly to ball games lately!} || TeriLynneUnderwood.com

Hey y’all! I am having the best time sharing my capsule wardrobe with you. Last week I shared my why and how about giving this a try, including my “rules” for what pieces stayed and what didn’t.  There are still a couple of items I want to find and include so I kept my total item number under 50 so I’d have room for them!  I know this isn’t what most people do when they have a capsule wardrobe but the point for me was to make my life simpler and not to create a whole new list of do’s and don’ts.

Here are few of the outfits I’ve worn in the past week:

What I Wore Wednesday || TeriLynneUnderwood.com

Remember that tank top from two weeks ago? Yeah, it’s back … and I still love it! I wore the first outfit last Thursday to get my hair done. {I love my new fall cut and color!} I paired the tank with these adorable green skinnies I received from [affiliate link] Stitch Fix last fall.  I love them! You’ll be seeing them a lot too. 🙂

Friday night we headed to the varsity football game here! It is still pretty warm especially at kickoff so I wore this cute gray and black tee with a black tank under it.  Added my favorite cropped jeans and some cute mustard canvas shoes and I was ready to cheer for the Golden Tigers! {It was an intense game but we came out on top — 26-25!!}

Next up is another game day outfit.  This time for the JV game where my girl cheered on Monday. Again we have the cropped jeans and black tank {and the mustard shoes but I didn’t manage to get them in the photo}. I added a gray pocket tee I had made last year with our school logo embroidered on it. The temps here are still in the 80s even for 6:30 kickoffs so I was a little toasty at the first of the game but by the end it wasn’t too bad. {We won that game too! Looking like a good year here in Tiger Nation!}

And finally, today I’m dressed for writing and working at home now and then teaching Bible study at church tonight. I’m wearing my cropped jeans {yes, I totally should have bought two pair at least!} with a comfy three-quarter sleeve sweater and my favorite Auburn scarf. Too keep the look super casual I’m wearing my khaki Converse sneakers. Love them!!

love my Converse sneakers!!As promised last week, here is a list of the pants, skirts and dresses I’ve included in my fall capsule.

Jeans:

  1. cropped
  2. long boot cut
  3. trouser style {dark wash}
  4. straight leg
  5. green skinnies

Other Pants:

  1. royal blue corduroy
  2. black dress pants
  3. black denim leggings
  4. gray corduroy leggings
  5. navy shorts {will swap for navy leggings as it cools off}
  6. brown leggings

Skirts & Dresses:

  1. black pencil skirt
  2. gray pencil skirt
  3. black maxi skirt
  4. chambray shirt dress
  5. navy dress

Still would like to have:

  1. brown dress pants
  2. cute fall color palazzo pants {maybe something like these [affiliate link] from zulily}
  3. denim jeggings or skinny jeans

My total number of bottoms is 16 now but if I can find those other three items will end up at 19. I could probably pare that number down and I’m guessing there will be at least a couple of things I don’t wear much or at all.

On last thing, I mentioned my goal for only keeping items that can be worn in at least five different outfits. A few had asked me about that and I thought I’d share an example of how I’ll be doing it.  Using that  basic outfit from last Thursday, here are two other variations that will definitely allow me to transition into cooler weather.

Just curious, do you have any colored jeans? I love mine!!

Linking up with Lindsey and all the lovelies who share what they’ve been wearing each week.

  1. You are the cutest thing ever! And yes, I have colored jeans. Are you ready? Bright red! Got them in my last Stitch Fix and I adore them! I’d never have even tried them on at a store but since they came in a Fix, I had to try them. So fun! I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe and definitely need to look into it. Hugs!!
