Sundays are prayer days for us in this series.  Last week we prayed for ourselves as wives.  This week, we’re looking at how we can pray for our husbands’ minds.

Recently I read this quote about the mind:

Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

It’s also been said that as a person thinks, he or she does.  Y’all, it matters a great deal what {WHO!} controls our minds … and what thoughts we allow to dwell there.  And as we spend time intentionally praying for our husbands, praying for their minds is of great value. Here are five characteristics and verses we can use as we pray for his mind.

A Humble Mind

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. {Philippians 2:5-8, emphasis added}

A Focused Mind

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. {Isaiah 26:3, emphasis added}

A Submissive Mind

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. {Proverbs 19:21, emphasis added}

An Undivided Mind

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. {Mark 12:30, emphasis added}

A Transformed Mind

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. {Romans 12:2, emphasis added}

This week, I encourage you to use these verses as you pray for husband — claim the truth in them and ask the Lord to make these characteristics dominant in your husband’s mind and thoughts.

Cheering you on,
TL
