I’m honored to be sharing today as the final post in my dear friend Julie Sander’s summer series, Wedded Wisdom She invited some of her married friends to share their wisdom and encouragement … and these are women have certainly done just that! The past several weeks have been filled with practical tips, biblical truth, and the kind of conversation you have with your closest friends. My post is about praying for my husband.
I looked back at several of my own blog posts about marriage and looked through my journals for some inspiration. Over the years, I’ve made it a habit to develop a prayer for my husband each year. Typically I do this during June as both Scott’s birthday and our anniversary are in that month. Basically I ask the Lord to reveal to me a few Scriptures I can pray for Scott in the coming year. One year I used Ephesians 6:10-20 as a guide, praying for him to be clothed in the spiritual armor of the Lord. I’ve also based my prayer on Galatians 5:22-23 asking for the fruit of the Spirit to be rooted deep in my husband’s heart and actions.
This year, I’ve crafted a prayer based on Scott’s life verse — Micah 6:8.
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God. {ESV}
Join me at Julie’s to read the prayer and check out all the amazing posts from this series! You won’t be disappointed, I promise!
