The last month has been rough. I might have mentioned that a few times. The laundry hasn’t always been done and I have felt like a bad mom. It’s been easy to forget simple truths.
But there’s this song by Selah (I love them!) that keeps rolling through my head. I’ve shared it here before … it’s titled “Unredeemed.” These words:
Places where grace is, soon to be so amazing … It may be unfulfilled, it may be unrestored, but when anything that’s shattered is laid before the Lord, just watch and see … It will not be unredeemed. {Seriously, listen to the whole song … so worth it!}
Did you go ahead and watch the video? That’s Todd Smith (husband to the amazing Angie Smith) talking about how God redeems everything. EVERYTHING. Children who die. Marriages that fall apart. Illnesses that never heal. Broken hearts. Broken homes. Broken lives. Our God is in the redemption business.
Maybe, just maybe, you need that reminder today. Maybe you’ve made a choice that led to shame. Maybe you have been waiting for a love that hasn’t shown up yet. Maybe you’ve given up hope.
Will you, could you, rest today in this simple truth:
Our God redeems all things.
Nothing is beyond His reach, His care, His touch.
That burden you are carrying? That heartbreak that keeps you up at night? That wound that never quite heals? That situation you cannot understand? All of that … all. of. that. … He will redeem.
Today, I just want to invite you to join me in laying down the weight and leaving it at the foot of the Cross, the place of redemption.
Will you trust Him?

Sometimes it is so hard to see that He is at work in the midst of our heartaches … but nothing, not one thing, given to Him is ever wasted. I am learning to live that truth – whether I feel it or not.
